Antonino Sofia "Tony", of Germantown, MD died on Thursday, September 29, 2011. He was born and raised in Sicily and came to the United States when he was 18 years old. He owned a shoe and luggage repair shop in Chevy Chase, MD for over 30 years.
He was one of three children born to the late Antonino and Antonina Sofia and was the beloved husband of Teresa Sofia for 54 years.
Tony will forever be remembered by his beloved son, Anthony and his wife, Frances; his daughter, Angela and her husband, William; and his youngest son, Domenico and his wife, Jane. He will also be remembered by his 14 treasured grandchildren, along with countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know him.
Interment followed Mass of Christian Burial offered on Monday, October 3, 2011, at the Mother Seton Catholic Church, Germantown, MD. Burial will follow at All Souls Cemetery, Germantown, MD.
The family requests all donations be sent to the incredible people who gave such wonderful care for Antonino in his time of need to Montgomery Hospice, 1355 Piccard Drive, Suite 100 Rockville, MD.
