The daughter of Willie Wilson & Daisy Wilson Wheeling of Tazewell County, Virginia. She was of the Pentecostal faith, attended Living Word Church and was a 1954 graduate of Richlands High School. She enjoyed quilting and crocheting and was a former employee of The Clinic as a nursing aid. Katherine married Arthur H. Horn in 1955. They had ten children together. Daughters, Pamela (deceased), Patricia, Janet & Tamula, and sons Douglas, Samuel, Jackson, Robert, Stephen & John. Katherine was blessed with 21 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Horn died on September 20, 2011 at Clinch Valley Medical Center in Richlands, Virginia. Funeral services were conducted on September 24, 2011 at Shortridge-Ramey Funeral Home Chapel in Keen Mountain, Virginia, with interment following at Wilderness Cemetery in Pilgrims Knob.
