Mrs. Ellen Kane, widow of John Kane, Sr. died early Monday, January 17, 1916 at the home of her son Daniel Kane, on Church St., after an illness of some months. Mrs. Kane, was buried January 20, 1916 at St. Charles Cemetery. The funeral took place from the home of her son, Daniel Kane, on Church St. and it was largely attended.
High Requiem Mass was solemnized in St. Charles's Church, by Rev. John Moran. The pallbearers were Bryan and Francis Kane of Media; Albert Evans, of Media; John Kane, William Kane and Charles Kane, of the borough of Clifton Heights.
She was a woman with a strong, but pleasing personality. She is survived by five sons, Bryan Kane, of Media; J.V. Kane, a real estate dealer; John Kane, Daniel Kane and Michael Kane, all of the borough of Clifton Heights.
