Flournoy English Coble, 69, of Nashville, died Tuesday morning (Nov. 22, 1988) at his residence following a long illness.
A native of Giles County, he was a son of the late John Hamlin and Olive Ruth Erwin Coble and a member of the Church of Christ. Mr. Coble was a veteran of World War II serving in the marine corps.
Funeral services were conducted Friday morning at the Petersburg chapel of Ralston-McCauley Funeral Home with Eugene Peden officiating and burial followed in the New Hope Cemetery with full military honors.
Mr. Coble is survived by two sons, Richard Coble and Steven Coble of Nashville; two brothers, John Coble of Miner Hill and H.B. Coble of Chapel Hill and three grandchildren.
