Mrs. Mary Frances Fentress Cowden, 83, of 207 Maycox Ave., the widow of Jack Cowden and a daughter of John Henry and Mrs. Donna Frances Hargrove Fentress, died in a hospital Sunday at 9:30 a.m.
A native of Princess Anne County, she was a lifelong resident of the Norfolk area.
She is survived by two brothers, Alonzo E. Fentress of Virginia Beach and James Asa Fentress of Norfolk; and a sister, Mrs. Grace May Pederson of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
The body was taken to Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home.
