Arno E. Amel
Arno E. Amel, 78, who resided at the Toth Nursing home in Chilton, died Thursday at Calumet Memorial Hospital after a long illness. He had been a member of the board of School District No 1 for 15 years.

The son of the late James and Ida Green Amel was born on Jan. 3, 1893 in the Town of Brothertown, Calumet County. He married Minnie Bergien on Feb. 28, 1916 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Jericho. They farmed in Brothertown until he retired in 1958. He was a member of Holy Trinity Church and its Holy Name Society.

Surviving are his wife, also at the Toth Nursing Home; three daughters, Mrs. Arthur (Vilma) Leitner of Hilbert; Mrs. Lawrence (Norma) Laudolff of R. 1, Fond du Lac, and Mrs. Martin Quast of R. 1, Newton, and Delmar, Dennis and Arvid, all of R. 3, Chilton; 22 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Edgar Gasch of Chilton and Mrs. Jessie Huebsch of R. 1, Malone. He was predeceased by a son, two grandchildren, two brothers and two sisters.
