Ruth V. Rider, 72, died Friday at Regency Place Healthcare Center in Greenwood. She had been a Greenwood resident for the past 18 years.
She was born July 9, 1921, in Heltonville to Otto Inman and Letha (Ray) Inman. She was married to Everett Rider: he survives. Other survivors include two daughters, Barbara Miller of Indianapolis and Betty Powell of Green Cove Springs, Fla.; seven grandchildren: and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Otis Inman.
She worked for Eli Lilly and Co. as a group leader in the capsule department for 25 years, retiring in 1972.
She was a member of Erie United Methodist Church in Bedford.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Singleton & Herr Madison Avenue Mortuary, with the Rev. Dr. Glen O'Dell officiating. Calling will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Entombment will be at Washington Park East Cemetery, Indianapolis.
