Mrs. Paralee Shoopman, 83, a resident of Westgate Towers, died Saturday at 2:15pm at Ottumwa Hospital.
Born May 21, 1893, in Davis county, to Tayor and Sophia Goodson Lang, she had lived in Ottumwa for the past 50 years. She was a member of the Womens Relief Corps, the Bronze Button Club, The Daughters of Union Veterans, and Myrah Rebekah Lodge No.41. She married Clarence Shoopman, November 14, 1911, at Floris. He died in 1955.
Surviving are one son, Harold, of Des Moines; and one daughter, Helen Jackson, of Ottumwa.
Services will be Wednesday at 1:30pm at the Johnson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Richard Faust of the First Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in the Shaul Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be John and Steven Jackson, Clyde and Wallace Hawkins, and Delphin and Dean Bales. There will be a Rebekah service Tuesday at 7:30pm at the funeral chapel.
