She was born, October 10, 1918 in Ballard, WA to Elsie and Leander (Lee) Hollis. She attended high school in Marysville, WA. Leah married her first and only love, Robert H. Argle 8/18/1935 in Davenport, WA.
They moved to Kelso in 1936. She helped her husband in a night crawler business and small nursery, Homesite Gardens, in the 40's and 50's.
She was a lifetime homemaker, active in the PTA while her children were schooling, and served occasionally on the election board. She was known by her CB radio handle as "Jar Washer". She was an avid member in the neighborhood bingo club for 25 years.
Leah enjoyed being with her family and especially loved the time spent with her grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was also fond of her dog "Foxy".
She was preceded in death by her husband of forty-nine years, Robert H. Argle in 1984.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Robert L. and Lue Seal Argle of Longview; a daughter, Billie Ann Reed of Longview; a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara Joy and Sam Liles of Porter, IN; a daughter, Lizabeth Joan Argle of Prosser, WA; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
At Leah's request, there will be no service. Private interment will be at Green Hills Memorial Gardens. A family celebration will be held later.
