Dorothy M. Koshnick, 83, formerly of 4246 Highway 66, Stevens Point, a resident at Harmony House in Stevens Point since 2002, died Sunday, March 20, 2011, at Ministry St. Michael's Hospital in Stevens Point.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Stevens Point, with the Rev. Thomas Lindner officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation was scheduled for the Shuda Funeral Chapel in Stevens Point from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, with a general rosary at 5 p.m., and at the chapel from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Friday.

Mrs. Koshnick was born March 23, 1927, in Stevens Point, a daughter of the late Ben and Regina (Adams) Golke. She graduated from P.J. Jacobs High School in 1944.
She began working at Hardware Mutual in Stevens Point before being transferred to San Francisco for 14 months. She was then transferred to Chicago for six months before returning to Stevens Point.

She was married to Harry Koshnick on July 28, 1948, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Stevens Point. He died in 2002.

They owned and operated Koshnick Oil until they retired in 1998. She was the business manager and accountant for the business. They also ran concessions at Pleasure Island in Eagle River and also operated The Ponderosa in Waupaca as a family business with Joe and Helen Koshnick.

Survived include two daughters, Sandy (Tom) Tielens, Trumansburg, N.Y., and Mary (Brian) Rickli, Stevens Point; one son, John (Darla), Stevens Point; one brother, Jim (Virginia) Golke, Wisconsin Rapids; one sister, Romayne (Mike) Doyle, St Cloud, Minn.; two grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by one son, Randy in 1965; and two brothers, Bernard and Orville.
