Mrs. Thos. Phillips of Moulton Is Victim of Illness

Pioneer Fergus Woman Arrived in Montana in 1895

Moulton, May 24. - The Rev. W. S. Traweek of the Methodist Church conducted funeral services Tuesday in Lewistown for Mrs. Thomas Phillips, 67, of the Moulton area, who died in Lewistown Saturday.
Burial was in Lewistown cemetery.

Mrs. Phillips was born Margaret Baynon at Joliet, Ill. She was educated there and in 1895 she came to Montana. After residing in Butte, she moved to Belt. She married Mr. Phillips in 1897.

The family came to this section in 1903 and Mr. Phillips operated a coal mine near Maiden. Later they took up a farm in the Moulton community where they remained.

Mr. Phillips survives, with four sons and two daughters.
