Son of Noah & Catherine Hite Brubaker

Oliver C. Brubaker was born Oct. 4, 1849, near Salem, Ill., and died Jan. 15, 1917, at the age of 66 years, 3 months and 11 days. He came to Wilson County, Kans., in the fall of 1871 and in the following year came to Cowley county and pre-empted the land which is now a part of the home place. He was married to Miss Millie J. Burris Sept. 11, 1873. To this union were born two sons and one daughter, Fred R., Roy P., and Alice, Mrs. Edgar Roney, all of Dexter. The deceased leaves to mourn his lose, a widow and children, a step-daughter Clara D. Berry of Dexter, seven grandchildren, two step-grandsons, and sisters, Mrs. Alice Branard, Carbondale, Ill.; Minnie Kinsley, Kirmundy, Ill.; Ruth Fulton, Phoenix, Ariz.; brothers, Leslie Brubaker, Federal Point, Fla.; Lee Brubaker, Salem, Ill.; Ross Brubaker, Blackburn, Okla.; Van Brubaker, Davis, Okla.; Andrew Brubaker, Salem, Ill.; Arthur Brubaker, Salem, Ill.; and a number of relatives and old neighbors and friends. The funeral services were conducted by W. D. Starns Tuesday afternoon from the home of the deceased with internment at Dexter Cemetery. A very large crowd was present. The deceased was a member of the Baptist church of Dexter, and a kind and loving husband and father. To the bereaved, the friends extend condolences in their hour of sorrow.
