Robbie Thorpe of Big Spring, Texas formerly of Taylor County, Texas died Tuesday evening, July 29, 2003 in Odessa, Texas. She was 94 years old. Robbie was born in Merkel, Texas on July 22, 1909 to R. B. and Eliza Ann Corder. She had four sisters and three brothers. She was the granddaughter of J.T. Evans, a pioneer in the Hamby, Texas area. She married Ewing Boyd Thorpe on July 30, 1928 in Anson, Texas. They were blessed with four children: Don and Jack Thorpe and Dolores "Dosie" Pearce and Jean Aston. She and her husband first came to Big Spring in 1943. Mr. Thorpe died on July 31, 1983. Robbie was a retired nurse. Her hobbies were deer hunting and improving hunting leases. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church. She loved the Lord. Robbie had ten grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and ten great great grandchildren.
