PAUGH
Aldena Faye Weaklend Paugh, daughter of Ernest Raymond and Viola Faye Weaklend, was born in Clarke County, Iowa July 19, 1917 and died at the Mercy Hospital in Des Moines Aug. 19, 1981 at the age of 64 years and one month.
She received her education in the schools of Lucas and Clarke counties and attended summer school at Simpson College at Indianola. She taught many years in the rural schools of Clarke and Wayne counties.
Aldena was united in marriage to Kenneth Eugene Paugh Feb. 14, 1942. To this union one daughter, Janet Faye, was born. They took her brother's daughter, Vicki Louise Weaklend, into their home when she was 18 months of age and loved her as one of their own.
Those left to mourn their great loss are her husband, Kenneth of Humeston; daughter, Janet Faye Petty and husband Gene of Corydon; Vicki Louise Potter of Humeston; grandchildren, Douglas and Derek Petty of Corydon, and Stephanie and Marc Potter of Humeston; mother, Faye Weaklend of the Chariton Manor; sister, Collene Heston of Lucas; many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father; a brother, Ernest Wilbert Weaklend; and a sister, Lillie Merle Boston.
Aldena accepted Christ as her Saviour at the Christian Church in Woodburn at an early age. Though failing in health for some time, Aldena bore her suffering with great patience. Her highest happiness were spent in her home, quilting and surrounded by her children and grandchildren.
She was a kind and loving wife, mother and grandmother and friend. All who knew her loved her. She will be sadly missed.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, 1981 at the Hutchinson Funeral Home with Rev. Kate Simons conducting. Burial was in the Humeston Cemetery. Pallbearers were John Gray, Bob Jennings, Philip Johnson, Carlos Paugh, Steve Paugh and Lee Williams. Flower ladies were Evelyn Exley and Virginia Mart.
