Ernestine Bodenstein Sheboygan Press September 8, 1920

Mrs. Ernestine Bodenstein, aged 90, one of the early day residents of Sheboygan city, died this morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. H. C. Prange, 617 Erie avenue. Mrs. Bodenstein, widow of the late George Bodenstein, pioneer merchant of this city, was born in Leibenstein, Saxony, Germany, January 27, 1830 and was married April 13, 1847.
Mr. and Mrs. Bodenstein came to this country in 1855, and after residing in Cleveland, Ohio for a year came to Sheboygan. Mrs. Bodenstein was a devout Christian, being a member of the Trinity Lutheran church of this city, and until health failed, was a regular attendant. Ms. Bodenstien was a dear old lady, beloved by everyone and her death, while expected, will come as a shock to hosts of friends.
The survivors are two sons, M. A. Bodenstein of this city and G. A. Bodenstein of Chicago, and two daughters, Mrs. H. C. Prange and Mrs. Wm. Jung.

Mrs. Bodenstein was born in Saxony, Germany a daughter of John and Savina (Reckrod) Hophf.
