Gordon "Curly" Metcalf, 90, of Mt Vernon died Aug. 20, 2002 at Crossroads Community Hospital in Mt Vernon. He was born Oct. 11, 1911 in Waltonville the son of Fred and Agnes Carroll Metcalf. He married Hilda Hester Jan. 24, 1931 in Nashville and she survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Rita and husband Don Crocker of Mt Vernon; a sister-in-law, Freda Moore of Mt Vernon; a bro-in-law, Russell Norris of Waltonville and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents, one daughter Patsy West in 1985, one sister Irene Hartley, one brother Amos Metcalf and a great-granddau. Holly West. Burial at Abner Cemetery near Nason.
