Maybelle Amack was born in Lucerne, Putnam Co., Missouri and died at her parent's home one mile east of Pennville, Sullivan Co., Mo., she being the daughter of Elijah G. and Mary E. Amack, aged 8 yrs, 4 mos and 23 days.

She was sick for eleven days with typhoid fever. All was done that could be done but the disease was so deeply settled that it was beyond the reach of medical aid.

Little Belle, as she was commonly called, was a favorite with all who knew her and she is sadly missed by her playmates and schoolmates.

"Sleep on little Belle and take thy rest, The Lord has chosen thee to dwell among the blest."
