William L. Doran, 61, of 1904 Magnolia Ave., an employee of Fisher Body more than 40 years and chief of plant protection since 1953, died this morning in Mercy Hospital after a year's illness.

Born in Janesville Feb. 5, 1907, one of 12 children of Thomas and Margaret Fanning Doran, he was married July 31, 1939, in Dubuque, Iowa, to Marian Manthei. He was a veteran of service in World War II with the Air Force and a member of St. William Catholic Church.

Surviving are his wife; three sons, William, James and Timothy, and a daughter, Margaret, all of Janesville; four brothers, John, Montgomery, Ala., Thomas, Madison, Peter, Houston, Tex., and James, Janesville; five sisters, Mrs. Thomas Butters, Mrs. J. H. TenEyck, Mrs. Lloyd Pillsbury and Miss Genevieve Doran, all of Janesville, and Miss Agnes Doran, St. Paul, Minn.

Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in Overton Funeral Home and at 10 in St. William Catholic Church with burial in Milton Lawns Memorial Park.
