Mrs. Margaret Doran, 67, widely known in the community and a lifelong resident of Rock county, died at 3:30 a.m. Saturday in her home, 200 Randall avenue, following several months' illness.
Formerly Margaret Fanning, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Fanning, she was born in the town of Johnstown in 1871. She was married to Thomas Doran Sept. 15, 1890 and to this union were born 12 children, all of whom survive. Her husband died 11 years ago.
Mrs. Doran was an active member of St. Mary parish and a leader in the Married Women's sodality. Her friends were legion as she was ever generous witty and philosophical.
Surviving ate five sons, John, James, William and Peter Doran, Janesville, and Thomas Doran, Jr., Madison; seven daughters, Mmes. Thomas Butters, Harvey Ten Eyck, Lloyd Pillsbury, the Misses Agnes, Genevieve and Roseanne Doran, all of Janesville, and Mrs. Charles Williams, Beloit; and 19 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 9 a.m. Tuesday in the Doran home and at 9:30 in St. Mary church. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet cemetery. The Junior League, C.W.C., of which Agnes Doran is a past president, will recite the rosary at the Doran home at 4 p.m. Sunday.
