She served as a cadet nurse in the U. S. Army during World War II and was employed as an occupational health nurse with Ford Motor Co. for 25 years. She was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Livonia, Michigan. She was also a member of the American Association of Occupational Health Nurses.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Stephen George and Elena Papaianou Vlachos; as well as her husband, Luther Truman Hartsell.
She is survived by five children: Colleen L. Hartsell of Cleveland, Elaine A. Hartsell of San Diego, Calif, David L. Hartsell of Glen Ellyn, Ill., Mark A. Hartsell of Phoenix, Ariz., and Karen L. Lee of Denver, Colo.; nine grandchildren: John Just, Jason Just, Paula Mager, Kimberly Mager, Ava Jean Hartsell, Ella Pearl Hartsell, Nina Hartsell, Michelle Hartsell and Stefan Hartsell; two great-grandchildren: Caylen Just and Maxwell Just; and one brother, Daniel Vlachos of Ecourse, Mich.
Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens concluding with a white dove release ceremony.
