Major League Baseball Player. Born in Elizabeth, New Jersey, on September 26, 1947, McRae made his pitching debut on September 13, 1969. McCrae began his career in the minor leagues in 1965 at the age of 17 when he was recruited by the Detroit Tigers. In 1968 he was moved to the major leagues after leading the Southern League. From 1969 to 1970 he pitched for the Detroit Tigers and had a 2.90 ERA. In 1970 he was traded in the off-season to the Washington Senators, with whom he played for until 1972. After he left the major leagues he joined the Mexican League, and played with the Los Dorados de Chihuahua from 1972 to 1981. In 1981 he retired from baseball, but stayed with the Los Dorados de Chihuahua's as a coach until 1984, when he became a recruiter for the team of Tomateros de Culiacan. In 1995 he moved to Garland, Texas, and became a manager of a Long John Silver restaurant.
