Suggested edit: George T Lee, Jr, died March 10, 1972, at a local hospital. Mr Lee was the great nephew of General Robert E. Lee, and a member of the Society of Lee's in Virginia, as well as the Society of Cincinnati. He served in W.W. I overseas, and later as an officer in the Reserve Militia or Minutemen and in the Virginia State Guard. Prior to W.W. I, when only 17 yean of age, he volunteered for service with the Canadian Army fighting in Belguim and France. After W.W. I, he served In the Army of Occupation. He spent more than 30 years In the United States Postal Service. He was a member of Powhatan Masonic Lodge and the Powhatan American Legion. He also served as Sunday School Supt. of St Lukes Sunday School and was a director of the Southside Electric Corp. Mrs. Selwyn Hancock Lee, his wife, died in 1947. Graveside services at St Lukes Episcopal Church on Monday.
