Countess Eleonora de Cisneros

She was an American operatic mezzo-soprano. Born in New York City nee Eleanora Broadfoot, she studied singing under Mme. Murio Celli in New York, and made her début at the Metropolitan Opera House in 1899. In the following year she was married to Count François G. de Cisneros. Between 1900 and 1906 she sang in more than 40 operatic rôles in Rome, Milan, Madrid, Lisbon, Vienna, St. Petersburg, London, Rio de Janeiro, Sydney and Melbourne. In 1907 she was Oscar Hammerstein's leading mezzo soprano at the Manhattan Opera House, New York. She died in 1934.
