Kathleen Dianne (Sears) Beavers was born in Oklahoma City, OK on August 31, 1952 and died September 11, 2011 in Modesto, CA. She was the first child of Keith & Betty (Davis) Sears of Smith Center, KS She married James E. Beavers on December 21, 1970 in Honolulu, HI. They lived in Indiana, San Diego, Vallejo, and Modesto. They had one child, Ladonna (Beavers) Collins, who preceded her in death. Kathy is survived by her husband James E. Beavers, her parents, Keith & Betty Sears of Smith Center, KS; one sister, Nancy (Sears) Minnig, of Burlingame, CA and one brother, Kenneth Sears and sister-in-law Debbie (Seher) Sears of Bend, OR.; a sister-in-law, Carol Tingle of Los Angeles, CA; a son-in-law, Ron Collins, two grandchildren, Danielle & Eric Collins, and a host of nieces and nephews, and cousins. Kathy graduated from Kalani High School in Honolulu, HI in 1971. She finished her courses by correspondence and attained her diploma, hand delivered by her dad to her in Indiana. Kathy loved music and reading books. Her library of both music and books were her joy. She enjoyed the latest technology by downloading books on her "Nook". She also had a collection of Cook Books. She loved to cook and enjoyed preparing Thanksgiving and Christmas Dinners for family and friends. Kathy will be remembered for countless things.... She had a heart of mercy, she was a friend to those in need, she loved her family so deeply, she loved Jesus, and her faith in Him was the core of who she was. She loved children and animals. Kathy was a member of the Major Hugh Moss Chapter, NSDAR She will be missed by all.

Franklin and Downs Funeral home, 1050 McHenry, Modesto, CA, 95350, will handle arrangements. Service will be Thursday, September 22, 2011 at 5:00 pm.

Burial will be San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery Friday, September 23, 2011 at 12:30 pm.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials in memory of Kathy Beavers be sent to the Youth Activities Scholarship Fund, at the CrossPoint Community Church, 1301 13thSt., Modesto, CA 95354-0734
