Ed Harris, Sr., 88, prominent Texas newspaper publisher, moved to Texas with his parents in 1894.

He was the publisher of the Rule Review from 1920-1944 before moving to serve as co-publisher of The Graham Leader with his wife, Emaline, and son, Ed Harris, Jr., from 1944-1978.

A past president of the West Texas Press Association, Harris was active in the Texas Press Association and was one of the first publishers honored by TPA with a 50-year service award.

Harris was a recipient of a 50 year Master Mason Aware, a charter member of the Rule Rotary Club, a 34-year member of the Graham Rotary Club. He was an active member of the Methodist Church.

Survivors: his wife; son - Ed Harris, Jr.; sister - Floride of El Paso.
