Zee Carroll was united in marriage on July 13, 1935, at Waynesville, to Giles Samuel Hamilton. They shared 71 years and to this union three daughters were born. She was one of eight children and was preceded in death by her husband, her father and mother, and three brothers, Virgil, Richard, and Clarence Carroll.
Zee was baptized into Christ on April 21, 1957 and was a member of the Crocker Christian Church. She was a 1933 graduate of Crocker High School and the Iberia Academy and attended Warrensburg State Teachers College. She taught at Bear Ridge, Hicks and Hancock Schools. She and Giles were devoted to each other, and fulfilled their dream of carrying on the homestead and 120 year tradition of the Hamilton farm. She enjoyed her yard, the flowers and birds and made her home a place of beauty. Zee was a beautiful lady of style and grace, loved and respected by everyone who knew her. She loved quiet and privacy yet had a sparkling infectious laugh and sense of humor. Her stories of her childhood years in the Oklahoma oil fields were legend.
Those left to cherish her memory include: three daughters and sons-in-law...; three grandsons...; one brother...; and three sisters... along with many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted for Mrs. Hamilton at 11:00 a.m., Monday, September 26, 2011, in the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Chapel, Crocker, with Larry Richardson, her preacher and friend from the Crocker Christian Church, officiating. "One Thing I Know" and "Come To Jesus" were played for the funeral service. Pallbearers were Garry Teeple, Danny Curry, Carl Hamilton, Dennis Thornsberry, Roger Harrison, and Richard Tingle. Honorary pallbearers were her grandsons.... Interment was in the Mitchell Chapel Cemetery, near Crocker, under the direction of the Long-Kloeppel Funeral Homes and Cremation Services, Crocker.
