Martin Kehr, 79, a life-long resident of Harrison township, died Friday evening at his home, five and a half miles northeast of town, after being ill 12 days with pneumonia. Mr Kehr had been in failing health for some time.

He was born May 6, 1860, on the farm where he died. He was the son of Henry and Elizabeth Letherman Kehr.

On December 27, 1884, he was married to Martha, who survives, with a son, Jerry, near the parental home; three daughters, Mrs Edward Brenneman of this place, Mrs Effie Stealy and Mrs Otis Reynolds of near Goshen; 23 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

He also leaves two brothers, Frank Kehr of Elkhart and John of Canada, and two sisters, Mrs Mary Landis of Fargo, N Dak, and Mrs Margaret Clouse of Havre, Mont.

The funeral was held at 2 pm Sunday at the home and at 2:30 at the Olive Mennonite church, with the Rev A B Yoder in charge. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery.
