Oris Robert Hughes, 80, passed away Saturday, 4/5/03. Originally from Springfield, IL, he had resided in Jacksonville for the past 61 years.
He was retired from Seaboard (CSX), member of the Murray Hill Baptist Church, Masonic Riverside Lodge #266, Scottish Rite and Morocco Shrine. He's survived by his wife, Doris C Hughes of 59 years; son N.O. (Rocky) Hughes; daughter-in-law Linda Spinks Hughes; brother Dewey Hughes; granddaughter Jennifer Hughes; grandson Bradley Hughes; great-granddaughter Monica Sneed and step-grandson Brad Holt.
Funeral services will be 2PM Tuesday, April 8, 2003, at Murray Hill Baptist Church with Paul Wrenn and Jay Stuckey officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Memorial Park. Family will recieve friends from 6 to 8 PM Monday (today) at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, 729 S. Edgewood Avenue.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Murray Hill Baptist Church Renovation project.
