GALVESTON - Cherished wife, mother, Memaw, and friend, made her journey home to be with her son Dennis "Dinky" Sims, her parents, six sisters, and two brothers in the arms of God on August 4, 2004.
Helen leaves behind her loving husband of 63 years, Roy G. Sims, Jr. who is forever embraced by their love. Her children that adore her, Steve and wife Charlotte, Michael and wife Marilyn, Sharon Svarplaitis and husband Mick; grandchildren Kristy Boog-Scott and husband John, Jennifer Irby, Chad and wife Kris, Samuel Karr and wife Tracy; Kristy Maas; Rachelle, Melissa, Melanie, Angel, Michael, Lauren; Chris and wife Bonnie and Allison Svarplaitis who will remember her warmth, compassion and the memories that will live on in them always. Great grandchildren Elliott, Evan and Easton Boog-Scott; Kaitlyn Irby, Hogan and Caroline Karr, Megan Maas, Ian and Joshua Svarplaitis.
Helen was strong in her faith and an active member of West End Baptist Church and the Golden Hearts. She loved her church family and enjoyed all the many blessings in her life. Memaw, our hearts are filled with love, laughter and life because of you.Her memorial service will be Saturday, August 14, 2004, at 2 p.m. at West End Baptist Church, 7402 Stewart Rd, Galveston.

A memorial service will be held in Galveston on Saturday, August 14, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at West End Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to the Dallas Area Parkinson Society, 3003 LBJ Freeway, Dallas, TX 75234
