Charles O. Burnett, 79, of 2452 Illinois Ave., died at 9:50 p.m. Tuesday at St. Elizabeth Hospital, where he had been a patient one week. He had been ill five months.
Mr. Burnett was born in Capps, Mo., and had resided in the Quad-City area 60 years. He was retired from the Granite City Army Depot, where he was a civilian mechanic 12 years.
He was a member of Second Baptist Church. Mr. Burnett's wife, Myrtle, preceded him in death June 12, 1969.
Surviving are two sons, Ralph and Harold Burnett of Granite City; two daughters, Mrs. Pauline Seebold and Mrs. Irene Belshe of Granite City; and seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
