She was the daughter of Wilber Benjamin Heffner and Elmetta Mitchell. She married (1) Rex Gardner and (2) Ray Watson.Lillie Lolita Gardner Watson, 81, St. Joseph, died Friday, August 27, 1999 at a St. Joseph healthcare center (Carriage Square Convalescent Center) at 5:35 pm due to arteriosclerotic cerebrovascular disease and diabetes

Born in Clinton County near Plattsburg, Missouri, on October 14 1917, Mrs. Watson had lived in St. Joseph since 1958.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Ambassadors of Faith Church in St. Joseph.

Mrs. Watson was preceded in death by her first husband, Rex Gardner; her second husband, Ray Watson; a daughter, Lavina M. Gardner; three sons, Donald J., James W. and Roy Gardner; her mother, Elmetta Mitchell; a brother, Oakley Mitchell; and a sister, Marge Cobb.

Surviving: s son, Charles Gardner, Plattsburg; four daughters, the Rev. Lela Warner and Helen Perman, both of St. Joseph, and Doris Ferguson and Rose Utter; both of Raytown, Missouri; a grandchild raised in the home, Shannon Warner, St. Joseph; five sisters, Leona Stevenson, Liberty Missouri, Wanda Belk, Kansas City, Opal Berry, St. Joseph, Nancy Streeter, Plattsburg, and Alice Monroe, Columbia, Missouri; 23 grandchildren; and 48 great-grandchildren.

Service: 2 p.m. Monday, Rupp Funeral Home, St. Joseph. Burial: Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Joseph. Visitation: 6 to 8 tonight at the funeral home.
