Mary was the daughter of Francis Meriwether and Mary Bathurst. She married William Colston sometime before 9 Apr 1713; he died in 1721. She then married Thomas Wright Belfield on 9 Mar 1723/4.
Although several sources claim she was born in 1702, as shown on the plaque on her memorial, the date of her marriage to William Colston and the 1 Aug 1713 birth date of their first child, William Colston Jr., as recorded in the North Farnham Parish records, make this unlikely.
The age disparity for Thomas and Mary is unusual, if Thomas was born in 1704.
