The death Sunday evening, of Marion Curtis, former Porter county commissioner, gave wide-spread shock. Although Mr. Curtis had been ill for three weeks it was not generally understood that his ailment was of a serious nature. Of robust build and favored with a sunny disposition Mr. Curtis always enjoyed life to the full and had never before been ill. While a member of the board Mr. Curtis was rated as the humorist of the county solons. He was a great favorite in any grouping. A practical and successful farmer, Mr. Curtis brought to the administration of county affairs a broad and tolerant viewpoint. Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, standard time, from the Morgan township home.
