Samuel and his wife Susan (Pence) Copeland came to Spokane WA from Montgomery County, Kansas where he lived most of his life. Samuel was born in Indiana and his family moved to KS in 1882. He had 3 children - Hugh Earl, Lenora, and L.D. Abner Copeland. He farmed and he also sold preserves. His wife Susan is buried in this cemetery, as well as his brother Archibald Jackson Copeland.
