Charles Howard Frey, Jr. 70, of 4570 Elk Park Road, Girard, died Wednesday, July 16, 2003. [He was the son of Charles H. and Clara Harmon Frey.] He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, and the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed gardening and was a car and lawnmower repair enthusiast. Preceded in death by a brother, Jim Frey in 1996. He is survived by his wife Marie Enssle Frey; 2 daughters: Paula M. Frey of Erie and Carol J. Buckman and her husband John of Lake City; 3 brothers: Robert Frey and his wife Esther of Venice, Florida; Lawrence Frey and his wife Betty of Lake City; and Jack Frey and his wife Shirley of Wilmington, N.C.; 2 grandchildren: Matthew and Nicole Buckman. Friends may call at the Burton Funeral Home, 525 East Main Street, Girard, Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM and may attend a prayer service there Saturday at 11:00 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church at 11:30. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery.
