BALDWYN ‑ Effie Bartlett Houston, 93, died Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2000, at the Wesley Highland Manor Nursing Home in Memphis after a long illness. She was a former resident of Baldwyn and a resident of Memphis since 1958. She was a retired nurse's assistant and a member of Belview Baptist Church.
She was the widow of Carl Houston Sr., who died in 1974.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday of Waters Funeral Home with Dr. Terry Cutter officiating. Burial will be in the Baldwyn Masonic Cemetery.
Survivors include one son, Carl Houston Jr. of Memphis; one sister, Birdie Anderson of Shreveport, La.; one brother, Lewis Bartlett of Baldwyn one grandson, Kenneth Houston of Memphis.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to service time Friday.
