Services for Elbert S. McElroy, 75, 423 N. Bluff, will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Smith Funeral Home Chapel. He died in Ada hospital Tuesday.
Mr. McElroy, retired, was employed at Cowling Hospital. He was born in Kaufman County, Texas, Dec 29 1893, son of William and Emma Hicks McElroy. Mr. Elroy was a member of the Church of Christ. Surviving are two daughters, Willie Mae Ward of Austin, Texas. and Gracie Mae Terry of Mineral Springs, Texas; a step-daughter, Carol McCracken of El Paso, Texas; a step-son C. M. Box of Peoria, Illinois; three brothers, Freddie of Alice, Texas; Sim W. of Big Springs, Texas, and Henry of Pasadena, Texas; three sisters, Zettie McBee of Ozark, Arkansas; Lucelia Newcomer of Big Spring, Texas and Jessie Parrish of Cleborne, Texas; a half-brother, Conley A. Craig, of Point, Texas; a half-sister, Virgie Rackley of San Antonio, Texas; a step-brother, Joe D. McKinnon of Dallas; a step-sister, Pansy Bailey of Alice, Texas; six grandchildren and 16 great grand-children.
Perry Blue of Allen, will conduct the services and burial will be in the Rosedale Cemetery. Members of the Southwest Church of Christ, Riley Young, Herman Platt, Elwood Myers, Hugh Johnson, Ray Walker and Creston Threlkeld will be casket- bearers.
