She was born in Sullivan on August 17, 1943 to Cecil W. and Doris M. (Marshall) Wools.
Sandy was a very special person in the lives of her family and many friends. She never had children of her own, but by love she was a mother to all the children around her. Sandy was a member of the Linton 12th Street and Bloomfield Church of God; she also attended church in the Freelandville Home.
Survivors include one brother Larry and wife Maryanne Wools of Loogootee; two sisters Carolyn and husband Ronald Bland of Bloomfield, and Janice and husband Lonnie Haney of Bicknell; aunts Betty West, Annalee Wools; uncle Woody and wife Gertrude West all of Linton; nieces and nephews include Cheryl Presnal, Lonnie Haney, Jr., Mark Bland, Matthew Bland, Marcy Stahl, Jennifer Nichols and Michael Crowder.
Sandy was preceded in death by her parents; nephew Michael Bland, and niece Jodi Graber.
The family has requested memorial contributions be made to the Linton Community Food Bank. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
Friends may call at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel in Linton from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 22 and from 9 a.m. until the hour of service on Friday.
Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 23 at the Anderson-Poindexter Memory Chapel with Pastor William Oricks officiating.
Interment will follow in Prairie Chapel Cemetery near Newberry.
