Dennis R. "Denny" Stahl, 64, of Huntington, died on Tuesday, Sept. 20, 2011, at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne.
Born April 8, 1947, in Huntington, he was the son of Burdell and Mary (Metzger) Stahl. He was united in marriage to Joyce E. Huffman on Aug. 22, 1969 at their home in Huntington by Rev. William McCoy. His wife survives.
He worked as a Draftsman his entire career, starting with Orton Crane from 1965 to 1973, then at American Hoist & Derrick from 1973 to 1984, and for the past 25 years, he worked for ITT in Fort Wayne.
He was a 1965 graduate of Huntington Township High School. Following graduation, he attended American Technical Institute in Fort Wayne from 1965 to 1966. He served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968, he was stationed in Germany. He enjoyed restoring old cars, and was an avid coin collector. He liked attending non-winged Sprint car racing with his brother-in-law, Walt. He also enjoyed refinishing antique furniture and Big Band music and music of the 50's and 60's. He was a major fan of A.J. Foyt.
Also surviving are his father, Burdell M. Stahl; eight nieces and nephews, and several great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother Mary Stahl.
Services at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011 at Myers Funeral Home, Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford St., Huntington, Ind. with Pastor Richard Strick officiating. Visitation is from 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 23, 2011 at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in rural Huntington County.
