Anne Campbell was born March 4, 1928 at rural Toledo, Tama County, Iowa, the second youngest child of John M. Campbell and Alwilda B. (Cramond) Campbell. She graduated from Toledo High School in 1945. Before her marriage she was employed in the Insurance Sales Division of the Iowa Farm Bureau Federation.
Robert D. Bane and Anne Campbell were married on October 19, 1952 in Toledo, Iowa. They were to become parents of two children – Joanne and Alan.
In 1968 Anne returned to the work force in Des Moines as a secretary to the Iowa Petroleum Council, a Division of the American Petroleum Institute. After 22 years, she retired as Office Manager of the Council in 1990.
A self-taught pianist and organist, Anne was a pianist in her teen years at her childhood church and also served as organist for Pleasantville Christian Church for 12 years during the 1970's and 1980's.
Anne and Bob were married nearly 59 years, and lived all their married life on the century farm near Pleasantville. Anne passed away September 19, 2011 at Methodist Hospital in Des Moines at the age of 83 years.
Anne was preceded in death by her parents, John and Alwilda Campbell; her brothers and sisters, Charles Campbell, Charlotte Benn, Grace Henderson, Hildred Emerson, Merle Campbell and Lyle Campbell; Bob's parents, T.D. and Pauline Bane; and brother-in-law, Windol Wyatt.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Bob; daughter, Joanne (Dwight) McKay of Pleasantville; son, Alan of Troy, Illinois; grandson, Daniel Hancock of Ames; sisters-in-law, Gerry Campbell and Marilee Wyatt, nieces and nephews and their families; friends and co-workers.
