Dinah was the first child born to Charles Anderson and his wife Bettie Bloom. They were married 1899, naturalized in 1905, and moved on to other towns in Lawrence County.

1900 29 Jun Census, Terry, Lawrence, Dist 0021, South Dakota: Anderson, Charles born Nov 1870 29, married 1 yr, born Sweden, Imm 1889, Day Worker, Owns home mortgage. free; --Bettie wife born Dec 1872, 27, married 1 yr., 1 child born/ 0 children living, born Finland.

The was no birth certificate for this child that I could find online, the town of Terry, I am told, is no longer and records are unknown. There are two Anderson markers, the other, born in 1840s, unknown to this researcher. Therefore, this being the location of residence, the marriage date and the 1900 census a preponderance of evidence concludes this is the child that died before 1900.

A note of interest from the photographer of the marker is that this is a private cemetery as evidenced by the locked gate. Permission to enter is difficult to obtain and we are grateful to the photographer for his collection of the whole cemetery photographs.
