PEORIA, IL - Carl Dennis Bohannan, 51, of Columbia Station, Ohio, formerly of Peoria, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2011, at his home from a brain aneurysm.

Carl was born Nov. 15, 1959, in Peoria, Ill., to Melvin Glen Sr. and Ruth Irene (Hill) Bohannan; his mother, Ruth, survives. He married Nina Lynn Wowk on July 2, 1983, in Cleveland, Ohio; she survives.

He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Terry Joe.

Surviving are one son, Shawn Allen Poe of Columbia Station, Ohio; one daughter, Angela (Craig) Johnson of Peoria, Ill.; and four grandchildren, Brittney, Brandon, Hunter and Hayden. Also surviving are three brothers, Melvin Glen Jr. (Cindy), Richard Benton Sr. (Brenda) and Tommy Gene (Cheryl).

He was a roofer for most of his adult life, working all over the United States.

Over the last several years he worked at Industrial First as a roofer, belonging to the Roofers Local No. 44 out of Cleveland, Ohio.
