County Pioneer Died Tuesday
Mrs. Katherine Karst of Milberger, Would Have Been 96 Next Week
Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon for Katherine Margaret Karst, nee Milberger, one of Russell County's pioneer settlers who would have been 96 years of age next Thursday. Mrs. Karst died Tuesday evening at the home of her son, Emanuel, on the old family farm near Milberger.
Services will be held at 1 o'clock from the Deines Brothers Funeral home and at 2 p.m. form the Emanuel Lutheran Church at Milberger with Rev. C. Landdeck officiating. Burial will be in the Milberger Cemetery.
Mrs. Karst was born Oct. 18, 1855 in Saratoff, Russia. She was a daughter of Henry and Katherine Milberger. On Jan. 6, 1872 she was united in marriage with Reinhardt Karst. Eleven children, six of whom survive her, were born to them. She came to America with her family on Feb. 14, 1879 and had made her home in the Milberger community since that time.
She is survived by six children, Alex, of Oakland, Calif.; J. J. Karst, of Russell; Mrs. Henry Frabrizius of WaKeeney; Emanuel Karst, of Russell and Mrs. John Eichman, of Hoisington.
