--Nancy married Robert Simpson in 1881. They lived in South Carolina until about 1894 when they moved back to her husband's home county of Mecklenburg. They had 11 children: Anna, David L., Luther, Virginia, Mamie, Reid Banks, Mack P., Carl H., Carrie, Lucy, & Laura Simpson.
--Cause of death: she was hit by a Charlotte street car on Dec. 16. Head injuries caused her death 3 days later.
