He was born March 10, 1958 in Price, Utah, to Harold Wayne Slaughter and Iona Mae Heath.
Randy was a lifelong resident of Carbon County and graduate of Carbon High School Class of 1976. For over twenty years Rand worked as a skilled helper for Utah Power and Light at the Huntington and Carbon Plants and the Price Service Center.
Rand was an exceptional outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping and most recently he took up refinishing and restoring guns. He was respected by all and he was always there to smoke a batch of fish for his buddies.
He is survived by his mother, Iona Mae Slaughter, Price; sister, Patricia (Guy) Davis, Price; brother, Sam (Michelle) Slaughter, Price; five nieces and one nephew, Akemi (Chad) Reynolds, Hurricane, Tiana (Jason) Secor, Taylorsville, Haley Davis, Lehi, Devin (Stephanie) Davis, Salt Lake City, Cheyanne and Ashlyn Slaughter, both of Price.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Slaughter.
Funeral service, Wednesday, September 21, 2011, 11:00 a.m., Mitchell Funeral Home. Family will be at Mitchell's Tuesday evening from 7:00-8:00 p.m. and Wednesday one hour prior to services. Interment, Cliffview Cemetery.
