Raymond L. McNary, 85, was born on April 12, 1926, in Oklahoma City, OK. He went to be with the Lord July 19, 2011, after a short illness.

Ray was preceded in death by his loving daughter, JoBeth Smith; parents, Loral and Matilda McNary; sister, Helen Orndorff; and brother, Virgil McNary.

Ray is survived by his bride of 65 years, Rheta Jo McNary of the home; daughter, Rebecca Rae (Becky) Kueffer; daughter, Janet Elaine Dawsey; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ray was a hardworking, loving family man and friend. He was always willing to help anyone in need. He served his country in the Army as a SGT from May 1944 to June 1946 and in the Air Force as Staff SGT from March 1951 to September 1953 as a Nose Gunner on a B24J. He was a dedicated Westminster Presbyterian Church member. He graduated from Central State University in May 1974. Ray worked for Kerr-McGee as claims manager until his retirement in 1985.

The family extends their appreciation to the doctors, nurses, and aides at Deaconess Hospital, LTAC Hospital, and Crossroads Hospice.

Funeral service and burial will be Friday, July 22, 2011, at Resthaven Memorial Gardens in Oklahoma City.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to the Alzheimer's Association Oklahoma/Arkansas Chapter.

Funeral services are under the direction of Resthaven.
