Mrs. Helena LeEtta Squyres, 83, the wife of the Rev. C.W. Squyres, died in a Lawton, Oklahoma nursing home at 5:30 p.m. Monday, September 8, after an illness of two months. The family home is 902 F. Lawton. She had 136 direct descendents.

Services were conducted at 10:00 a.m. Thursday in Immanuel Baptist Church, with burial in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers were six grandsons: Larry Gollihugh of Wellington; Ray Squyres of Oklahoma City; E.D. Littlefield of Dallas; Wayne Squyres of Lawton; Murel Squyres of California and Zerrel Squyres of Oklahoma City.

A resident of Lawton for 13 years, Mrs. Squyres had lived in that area since 1934. She lived in Texas all of her life prior to that. Rev. Squyres, a Baptist minister 61 years before his retirement, served as pastor of many Collingsworth County Baptist Churches.

Mrs. Squyres was born April 2, 1886, in Wilson. She and Rev. Squyres were married October 15, 1902 in DeWitt County. She was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.

Survivors are her husband; four daughters, Mrs. Clyde Littlefield of Lawton; Mrs. Perry Barnett of Burkett; Mrs. W.A. Gollihugh of Quail and Mrs. Henry Alexander of Ardmore, Oklahoma; five sons, Rev. Alvin Squyres of Westminster, California; Rev. Dewey C. Squyres of Lockney; C.W. Squyres, Jr. and Dale Squyres of Lawton, and Marvin Squyres of Tacoma, Washington.

Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Lizzie Walker of Lubbock, Mrs. Ethel Thurman of Haskell; two half sisters, Mrs. Beatrice Bench and Gladys, both of Seymour; and two brothers, Rev. S.W. Badgett of Levelland and Dolphus Badgett of Seymour; 41 grandchildren, 83 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
