Funeral Mass for Ethel Eve Fremin, 95, of Lawton, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church with the Rev. Shane Tharp, pastor, officiating.


Burial will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens under direction of Lawton Ritter Gray Funeral Home.


Mrs. Fremin passed away Saturday, July 25, 2015, in Lawton.


Eulogy and Rosary will be at 6:30 p.m. following the visitation Wednesday at the funeral home.


Ethel was born Jan. 15, 1920, in St. Amant, La., to Edmond and Melanie "Ethel" Young Bourgeois. She grew up in Louisiana, where she attended school. She married Russell P. Fremin on June 3, 1941, in Covington, La., and they traveled with the military, living in California, Oklahoma, Utah, Texas, and Washington state, before returning to Lawton/Fort Sill in 1958, and making Lawton their home. Mr. Fremin passed away on May 6, 1990. Ethel was a homemaker, and raised eight children. She was a devoted member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, Altar Society, St. Vincent DePaul, and Birth Choice. She enjoyed traveling, sewing, babysitting, fishing and cooking and caring for her family. She loved and influenced the lives of all who knew her.


She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Russell; her son, James "Jef" Fremin; her brothers: Joseph, Emmanuel Sr., and Tony Bourgeois; and her sisters: Doris DeAngelis and Leona "Ninny" Bourgeois.


Memorial contributions may be made to the Tuition Assistance Program, St. Mary's School, 611 SW A, Lawton 73501.
