Funeral services for Melburn Guy Scott, 74, of 327 I Street, were conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Vase Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy Miller officiating.

Burial was in the Mountain View Section of the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Vern Fisher, Kenneth Darling, Leno Kaumo, Dwight Jones, Rudy Carlson and Barton Grosso.

Mr. Scott was found dead at his home at 8:30 p.m. Monday, by his brother-in-law, William T. Welsh, who had gone to check on him after he had not been seen all day.

He had apparently suffered a heart attack.

Mr. Scott was born in Arapahoe, Neb., on November 8, 1901, the son of the late Charles and Manetta Wheeler Scott.

He attended school in Arapahoe, and was married to Elizabeth “Bessie” Hickerson on March 1, 1926 at Rock Springs. She preceded him in death in 1955.

He was married to Beulah Fay Buhler on January 19, 1957 in Powell, and she died July 8, 1969.

He was a Rock Springs resident since 1923 and was a retired carpenter.

He was a member of the Methodist Church and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 151, the Young-at-Heart Senior Citizens Center and the Carpenters Union.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lydia Mae Newsom.

Survivors include two sons, Glen K. Scott of Logan, Utah and Richard Guy Scott of Mt. Clemens, Mich.; one stepson, Norman Buhler of Powell; one brother, Weldon of Denver, Colo.; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
