Mary, wife of John Stimmler, died after an illness of two weeks. She was a well known and respected member of St. John the Baptist's parish, Manayunk. Her funeral took place on Tuesday, September 13, and was largely attended. Solomn Requiem Mass was celebrated by Rev. Eugene Murphy, assisted by Rev. M. C. McEnroe, of the Church of the Holy Family, as deacon, and Rev. James A. Brehony as sub-deacon. Rev. William A. Fitzgerald, of St. Bridget's, was present in the sanctuary. Absolution of the body was performed and the sermon was preached by Rev. Father Murphy. Interment was made in the cemetery adjoining the church.
